Christmas Outfits. . . in January
Since our entire family was sick over Christmas and New Year's, the boys did not get to wear their Christmas outfits until we were well into January. . .but I insisted. . .and then I really pushed by taking pictures. Needless to say, Ewan was not too thrilled about it for some reason (being two and a half can be so hard sometimes)- but at least I captured the memory.

Liam-"come on big bro, smile!!!" Ewan is is just not having it!

Gingerbread
We decorated a gingerbread house this year and Ewan really had a blast. . . well, after I finally relaxed and stopped nagging him to stop eating all the candy- I mean, really, what kind of mother expects her 2 year old to prefer decorating the gingerbread house with candy to actually eating the candy!!! Sheesh!! Anyway, we started this tradition last year with a gingerbread tree- I am amazed at the changes that take place in one year!!

Daddy's favorite Christmas gift. . .
Ewan's Aunt Melissa gave him this really cool remote controlled car for young toddlers. Unfortunately, at first, Ewan was terrified of it, but now, he absolutely loves it!!! It is so funny to watch him control the little car and he is just soooooo proud of himself!!! Perhaps, even funnier, is watching Denny take the car out of the toybox and start playing with it himself . . .

Christmas!
Christmas was so much fun this year- it is amazing to think of the differences between Ewan now and Christmas 2007- he was still just a little peanut last year! The look on Ewan's face when he first saw the tree with his presents was priceless and he thoroughly enjoyed opening gifts! Denny graciously fulfilled the "long-awaited" role of unpacking toys from their boxes- a job that certainly requires patience and ingenuity. We had a yummy breakfast with Grampy, more presents with Grampy and story time with Grampy and all Ewan's new books!!! Then, mom-mom, pop-pop Aunt Claire and Uncle Wesley visited with even more gifts and lots of fun play time! Ewan was exhausted at this point, so a quick lunch followed by a nice nap was just what he needed!!! Then, we went over to mom-mom and pop-pop's house to visit some more and Ewan received another set of gifts from Aunt Mel, Uncle Ernie and cousins Rhian and Faryn!!!! I am afraid that the little man now expects gifts whenever he has a visitor!!!!!!!! It was such a lovely morning and so enjoyable with a fun little toddler running around brimming with excitement!!!!

Christmas Eve
Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve. Ewan had a great time visiting with grammy, opening presents, going to church and hanging out with grampy, cousins, aunts and uncles!! The highlight of the evening for me was singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus- thanks Aunt Dawn for baking the cake!!! Christmas is always such a busy time and I am glad we took the time as a family to remember the true reason for the celebration!
WOW!!! PRESENTS!!!
What's this Grammy?
WOW, Jack!!!!! I LOVE this crazy rabbit car!!!! Thanks for showing me how it works!

My, my, my, it sure has been a long time!
Yes, it has certainly been a very long time since I have posted anything on this blog. Unfortunately, I let Christmas and illnesses get the best of me and gave in to my forever weakness of procrastination. So, as I am trying to catch up in all areas of my life, I hope to update this blog with all of our Christmas fun!!! To begin, here are pics from our gingerbread tree making extravaganza!!!!!
Very serious about where to begin

Hmmmm, this looks tasty.
I think I've had enough sugar, mom!

Putting up the tree with daddy
So, Denny was away for 6 days on a fun hog hunting trip (can you imagine?!) and Ewan is just tickled pink to have his daddy back home. In fact, he has now developed quite of bit of "daddy separation anxiety" and just cannot get enough of Denny.
We also went out to get the Christmas tree and put it up yesterday which Ewan absolutely LOVED!!! It was so fun to watch him experience putting up the tree and decorating it for the first time!
Wow daddy- a tree in the house!!!
Checking out the ornaments
