WE LOVE CHICK-FIL-A!!!!

Chick-fil-A is becoming an outing of sorts for Ewan and I. We met Katie and Blake a couple weeks ago and last week, we met Becky, CJ and Gavin!!! Unfortunately, I end up eating ALL of my meal PLUS most of Ewan's- this is NOT a good pattern!!!! But, who can resist Chickie's?!s

Scarecrows!!!

We went to see scarecrows that were created for a contest last weekend. We had a really nice time, but for some reason, I didn't take many pictures (possibly due to Brian complaining about us looking like tourists? :)

Go Penn State!
Creepy. . . but very cool.

The Carousel . . .yes, again!

We went to the carousel again last week, unfortunately, Ewan didn't seem to like it all that much this time! This could have been due to the fact that he picked up on his dad getting sick as we spun around and around!!!! Denny and I thought the giant bunny was pretty creepy- maybe this is where is the fear started- check out the weird red eyes. . .

Ewan also tried out his first "construction vehicle" (I'm not sure what it was!) and loved it! Maybe he'll follow in daddy's footsteps?

What a mess . . . but so worth it!!!!

A few weeks ago Ewan began to refuse to eat yogurt. Big deal, right? Well, he has always loved yogurt, so I found this to be a tad strange. So, we took a break for a few days from yogurt and tried again- no such luck. Finally, I realized that it was not the yogurt that Ewan was refusing. It was being fed! He has now decided that he is Mr. Independent and will have nothing to do with being fed by another individual- even if it is ice cream! Although, it is quite the mess and not a whole lot actually makes it into his sweet little mouth, Ewan could not possibly be prouder! I am realizing that pregnancy is the only time that your baby is all yours- once the baby is born, he or she slowly begins to become more and more independent and need less and less of mom. I am going to be a mess when Ewan starts school . . .

Walking man!

1 week ago, today, Ewan began walking all by himself!!! He prefers crawling or pushing his cart, as he is much faster, however, he is walking by himself more and more every day!!! He is so proud of himself- I love it!

Life of the party?

Last weekend, we went to my niece's sweet sixteen bash and I, of course, think Ewan was the life of the party. . .

Hugs

Ewan has started hugging everything he can get his little arms around and loves to play "sleep" with the pillows on the couch. So sweet!

Brushing Biscuit

The other day I was trying to brush Biscuit and Ewan decided to join in on the fun. He proceeded to grab one of his lego blocks and use it like a brush! Ewan was so proud of himself, Biscuit, on the other hand, wasn't too sure what to do- it was hilarious! Now, Ewan will grab anything within sight and attempt to "brush" the cats with it. He has also taking to hugging either Honey or Biscuit, which consists of Ewan making a cat sandwich between himself and the floor. Both Biscuit and Honey have been such great sports- they just put up with him as we think they have finally realized that Ewan will not be leaving!!!!!

Lions, Tigers and Bears. . . Oh MY!!

I cannot remember the last time I have been to a zoo. I am not sure who enjoyed it more, myself, Denny or Ewan! Ewan was so funny to watch as he took it all in. He just stared and stared at the animals and wasn't quite sure what to make of them! He was terrified by a humongous goat (seriously, it was taller than me!) that climbed up on the fence- I was terrified myself! Did you ever notice a goat's eyes? The pupils are skinny rectangles and it is very creepy. Ewan especially loved the birds and got a kick out of the flamingos. But, of all creatures, the ostriches are what excited him the most! His mouth dropped wide open and he started pointing and kicking his little legs in excitement- it was too cute!

Checking out the flamingos with daddy (notice the safari hat!)
This camel was huge! Isn't it's face so funny!MajesticIt was so fun to look at God's creation and simply be in awe of His creativity! We cannot wait to go back again next year!

The kids

There is nothing like kids on the beach- it was so much fun to watch Ewan and Blake discover sand and the ocean! And then, to be able to see Liv and Jack playing hard and realize that this is what the little boys will be doing in just a few short years was amazing!

Looking up to Jack- he had so much fun boogie boarding and pushing his trucks all over the beach for hours!Ewan (again, mama insisting on a ridiculous amount of sunscreen on the scalp, hence the wild hair!), Jack, Liv and BlakeEwan and Blake playingMy precious little man

Me & Grampy

Ewan was able to spend lots of time with Grampy while on vacation. It was great to watch them interact. Ewan loves his Grampy so much- at church this past Sunday, he got so excited when he saw Grampy, despite utter exhaustion!!!

Cutie

Pool time with Uncle David, Olivia and Jack!!!!

Ewan practically jumped right in when he saw Uncle David in the pool with his cousins, Olivia and Jack. He had so much fun with them that of course, I wanted to join in! Well, wouldn't you know, as soon as I got in the pool, all Ewan wanted was to be held by mama!!!! Which, of course, I do NOT mind, however, I think next time I will continue to watch from the pool deck as Ewan has a blast with his relatives.

Enjoying the pool with Uncle David:

Sand? For lunch?

It's amazing the change that occurs in just 3 short months. While in the Outer Banks in the June, Ewan wanted nothing to do with the sand- in fact, he really just didn't like it at all. But, as soon as he hit the sand this time- he couldn't get enough (to eat, that is!!)! Ewan seemed to think that sand is an especially good snack and gobbled it up on our first day on the beach. Thankfully, he seemed to forget to eat sand the rest of the week.

Checking out the beach- Ewan crawled all the way to the water!
Yummy!OK, not so happy here- Ewan just did a faceplant into the sand- poor little guy!OK, now we're over it- but still covered!Every day we went to the beach for at least an hour or two and every day, Ewan left the beach absolutely covered in sand. It was so cute!!! We loved watching our little guy enjoy the beach so much!

Livin' the life

The reason for my blog slacking has been the vacation from which we just returned! We had such a wonderful time and I plan to post many more pictures from the week. I thought this one just said it all. . .
